$500,000 Raised for HOPE Fund Through Strategic Beverage Partnership

By Tim Harms

This spring, a simple idea—turning everyday beverage purchases into acts of generosity—turned into a half-million-dollar impact.

Through a campaign called “Hydrate to Donate,” $500,000 was raised for the HCA Healthcare HOPE Fund, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to HCA colleagues experiencing personal hardship. The funds were donated by PepsiCo as part of a collaborative effort tied directly to HCA’s beverage partnership.

The employee-facing campaign featured LifeWtr, Gatorade Water, Rockstar, and Celsius. For every beverage sold during the promotional period, $1 was earmarked for donation to the HOPE Fund. The initiative concluded with a celebratory check presentation at HCA Healthcare’s headquarters in Nashville, bringing together representatives from HCA Healthcare, PepsiCo, and Enliven.

“The Hope Fund provides a lifeline for colleagues during life’s most challenging moments,” said Joe Flynn, assistant vice president of community engagement at HCA Healthcare and president of the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund. “We are deeply grateful for PepsiCo and Enliven’s support of our colleagues who show up to care for patients and communities across the country every day.”

This program was made possible through HCA Healthcare’s beverage partnership with PepsiCo, a relationship strategically developed and managed with support from Enliven. It’s an example of how a well-structured beverage agreement can extend far beyond the bottom line, enabling positive, real-world impact for employees and communities.

Since its inception, the HCA Healthcare HOPE Fund has provided over $100 million in aid to employees and their families, offering support when it’s needed most.
