Account Manager, Growth & Partnerships

Position: Full-Time (W-2)
Location: Remote, with travel as needed, up to 30%
Reports To: Chief Customer Officer
Start Date: Immediately

The role

You will be the primary leader for your assigned accounts and the voice of the client inside Enliven. You will coordinate analytics, negotiation, operations, and other specialists around client outcomes. Success means owning the relationship, the process, and the result, not personally performing every specialist task.

Generally speaking, over the course of a year, approximately 50% of this role will focus on account management, 25% on sales-related activities, and 25% on RFP and sourcing leadership. The actual mix will change with the ebbs and flows of the business, and the number of RFPs will vary based on client timing, scope, and complexity. At times, account leadership will demand most of your attention. At other times, prospecting, industry representation, RFP activity, or business development will take priority. The right person will be energized by that variety and comfortable contributing wherever they can create the most value for clients and Enliven.

About Enliven

Enliven helps large organizations that purchase significant volumes of non-alcoholic beverages generate significant cost savings and increased revenue through exclusive and semi-exclusive beverage agreements and pouring rights. We help leaders negotiate their first or next beverage partnership, typically with Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, or Keurig Dr Pepper, and optimize the resulting program to grow sales, reduce labor costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

We negotiate and manage best-in-class beverage partnerships for leading organizations across the restaurant, healthcare, entertainment, retail, and aviation industries.

The opportunity

Enliven is seeking a commercially minded Account Manager to inherit and lead a portfolio of approximately 5-10 client relationships, grow those accounts, quarterback complex beverage sourcing and RFP work, and help generate new business.

This is an entrepreneurial role for someone who enjoys both serving clients and creating opportunities, and who can shift between those priorities as the needs of a growing small business change.

What you’ll own

Client relationships, retention, and growth

  • Take immediate ownership of a portfolio of approximately 5-10 accounts, leading each relationship from onboarding and ongoing delivery through renewal and growth.
  • Build trusted relationships across each client organization, including executive sponsors, day-to-day contacts, and other influential stakeholders.
  • Maintain a clear account plan for every relationship, including health, commitments, priorities, value delivered, open issues, risks, renewal strategy, growth opportunities, and next steps.
  • Make Enliven’s value visible through proactive communication, executive-ready summaries, business reviews, recommendations, and consistent follow-through.
  • Identify retention, expansion, scope, and relationship risks early, recommend action, and escalate when the situation requires it.

RFPs, sourcing, and strategic partnerships

  • Quarterback beverage RFPs and competitive sourcing engagements from strategy and timeline through evaluation, recommendation, award, and implementation.
  • Translate client goals into clear internal priorities, deliverables, decisions, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate analytics, negotiation, operations, and other specialists while respecting clear ownership, capacity constraints, and team work queues.
  • Build productive beverage-company relationships and lead communication about performance, commitments, opportunities, renewals, negotiations, and competitive processes.
  • Drive measurable growth within existing accounts by improving contract compliance and increasing beverage volume through marketing and promotional activities aligned with available beverage-company resources.
  • Own follow-through across complex engagements, surfacing resource needs, competing priorities, scope questions, and delivery risks early.

New business and market presence

  • Develop qualified opportunities through relationships, referrals, industry connections, thoughtful outbound activity, conferences, and Enliven’s broader business-development efforts.
  • Represent Enliven credibly in the industries we serve, build early-stage relationships, and help prospective clients understand the value of Enliven’s work.
  • Advance prospects with persistence and sound judgment, maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasts, and ask for the business.
  • Contribute directly to both new-logo revenue and growth within existing accounts.

Operating discipline and teamwork

  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, account plans, forecasts, commitments, and next steps so priorities and decisions remain visible.
  • Use good judgment about when to act independently, seek specialist input, involve other Enliven resources, or escalate to the Chief Customer Officer.
  • Partner directly across Enliven’s two operating pillars without creating competing priorities or work queues.
  • Adapt quickly as account service, sales, travel, and internal priorities ebb and flow.
  • Step into the work that creates the most value for clients and Enliven while maintaining ownership of core account commitments.

What success looks like

  • A healthy, well-led portfolio with strong relationships, visible client value, proactive risk management, and clear renewal and growth plans.
  • High retention and expansion, well-run sourcing and RFP processes, and smooth awards and implementations.
  • A consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities and meaningful new and expanded business closed.
  • Clients experience one accountable relationship leader, even when the work involves multiple Enliven specialists.
  • Increasing autonomy, strong commercial judgment, reliable cross-functional leadership, and consistent follow-through.

Required qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience owning a portfolio of client, account, partnership, or business-development relationships.
  • Experience building trust and communicating effectively with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex relationships, priorities, deadlines, and follow-up commitments.
  • Strong commercial instincts and a willingness to prospect, sell, expand existing relationships, and ask for the business.
  • Ability to interpret business information and translate it into clear, executive-ready recommendations and communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, project leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to inherit approximately 5-10 accounts, establish priorities quickly, and contribute with limited ramp-up.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to approximately 30%.
  • Comfort working remotely and operating in a small, entrepreneurial business where priorities and responsibilities change over time.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading or coordinating RFPs, strategic sourcing, contracting, negotiations, or competitive procurement.
  • Experience in healthcare, airports, foodservice, hospitality, procurement, consulting, beverage, entertainment, retail, or a related sector.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage account activity, opportunities, pipeline, and forecasts.
  • Experience using modern SaaS tools for CRM, project management, analytics, collaboration, or workflow automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt AI and other emerging technologies thoughtfully to improve research, communication, planning, efficiency, and follow-through.
  • A record of retaining and expanding existing accounts while also developing new-business opportunities.
  • Existing relationships or credibility within one or more industries Enliven serves.

How you work

  • Collaborative and low ego.
  • Hungry, humble, smart, and resourceful.
  • Comfortable taking ownership, exercising judgment, and following through.
  • Flexible when priorities shift between client service, RFP work, account growth, and new business.
